Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to join our Protein Engineering Group. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing our protein engineering efforts through numerous techniques, including molecular biology, protein purification, Biolayer interferometry (BLI), and protein stability measurements. Ideal candidates will have a strong background and interest in the properties and functions of proteins and protein-protein interactions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment focused on the development of novel therapeutic antibodies.

Responsibilities:

  • Protein Purification: Perform affinity chromatography, ion-exchange chromatography, and size-exclusion chromatography using FPLC systems.
  • Protein Analytics: Conduct size-exclusion chromatography on HPLC systems to assess purity and stability.
  • Mammalian Expression & Cell Culture: Transfect mammalian cells for protein expression and maintain cell lines.
  • Molecular Biology: Utilize techniques such as Gibson Assembly, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA sequencing, and plasmid preparations.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze experimental data, generate reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to project planning and execution.
  • Lab Management: Maintain accurate records, ensure safety compliance, and support lab organization and operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of laboratory experience, with at least 1+ year of industry experience in drug development preferred. 1+ years of hands-on experience in protein purification or molecular biology.
  • Proficiency in protein purification and handling is required
  • Experience with mammalian expression systems is strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry.
  • Familiarity with data analysis software and statistical tools.
  • Ability to maintain records within a laboratory information management system (LIMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.


The hiring pay range for this position is $65,000 - $110,000 per year based on skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.
