SystImmune is seeking a Laboratory Operations Technician to support the daily flow of materials, reagents, and equipment at our Bothell, WA site. This role receives and inspects inbound deliveries, routes materials to the correct laboratories and storage conditions, and prepares outbound shipments, including temperature-controlled and dry ice shipments. It also provides essential laboratory support through glassware washing and autoclave operation. We are looking for someone with approximately one to three years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or laboratory support experience who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-moving biotech environment.
This position requires full-time onsite work at our Bothell, WA facility.

Compensation and Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s level qualifications, experience, and skills.
While most offers typically fall within the low to mid-point of the range, we may extend an offer toward the higher end for exceptional candidates whose background and expertise exceeds the requirements of the role.

Responsibilities
Receiving and Inventory
- Receive, unload, and inspect inbound shipments of laboratory supplies, reagents, consumables, chemicals, and equipment; verify contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Identify and promptly route temperature-sensitive materials to the correct storage condition — refrigerated, frozen, or ultra-low temperature — upon arrival.
- Document receipts in the inventory or ERP system and notify requesters that their materials have arrived.
- Report discrepancies, damage, and shortages to purchasing and the requesting department, and assist in resolving them with vendors and carriers.
- Deliver received materials to laboratories, offices, and storage areas throughout the facility.
- Maintain organized stockroom, storage, and dock areas; monitor stock levels of common consumables and flag replenishment needs.
- Prepare, pack, label, and document outbound domestic and international shipments of samples, materials, and equipment.
- Pack and ship temperature-controlled and cold chain shipments, including dry ice, wet ice, refrigerated, and frozen materials, using appropriate packaging, coolants, and temperature monitors.
- Handle dry ice safely and in accordance with applicable transportation requirements and site safety procedures.
- Generate shipping paperwork, labels, and manifests; coordinate pickups and track shipments with carriers and couriers.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and retain documentation in accordance with company procedures.
Laboratory Glassware and Autoclave Support
- Collect, wash, rinse, and dry laboratory glassware and labware by hand and using laboratory glassware washers.
- Operate autoclaves to sterilize glassware, labware, media, and other materials, selecting appropriate cycles for each load.
- Autoclave and prepare laboratory waste for disposal in accordance with site biosafety and waste handling procedures.
- Inspect glassware for damage or residue before returning it to circulation; remove and report compromised items.
- Restock clean glassware and labware to designated laboratory locations and keep wash areas clean and orderly.
- Record autoclave cycles and complete associated logs; report equipment malfunctions and support routine maintenance and validation activities as directed.
Safety, Compliance, and General Support
- Follow all site safety, biosafety, and chemical handling procedures, and use required personal protective equipment.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Support facilities and operations with equipment moves, setup, and other general tasks as assigned.
- Participate in inventory counts, audits, and process improvement efforts for receiving, shipping, and glassware workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Biological Sciences, or a related scientific or technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and at least 4 years of relevant experience in biotechnology laboratory operations, including shipping and receiving, inventory management, or laboratory support.
- Approximately one to three years of experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management, or laboratory support.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in verifying, labeling, and documenting materials.
- Ability to read and follow written procedures, including packing instructions and equipment operating procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn inventory, ERP, and carrier shipping systems.
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing requests across multiple departments during the workday.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and a service-oriented approach to supporting laboratory and office staff.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality, as laboratory operations depend on predictable material and glassware turnaround.
- Experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or laboratory operations.
- Experience packing and shipping temperature-controlled or cold chain shipments, including dry ice.
- Experience operating autoclaves and laboratory glassware washers.
- Familiarity with DOT and IATA requirements for shipping dry ice and regulated materials; willingness to complete certification if not already held.
- Experience with an inventory management or ERP system.
- Experience working in a GMP, GLP, or otherwise documentation-controlled environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to push and pull loaded carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move boxes and containers weighing 25 pounds or more, with assistance or equipment for heavier loads.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and climb step stools or ladders to access shelving and storage.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving the hands and arms, including washing glassware and loading and unloading autoclaves.
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to heat and steam from autoclaves, cold storage areas and freezers, dry ice, cleaning agents, and laboratory chemicals, with required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work onsite full time at the Bothell, WA facility.
