SystImmune is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team in Redmond, WA. This role is responsible for leading key aspects of the monthly close process, preparing financial statements, supporting audits and tax filings, and ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial operations. The Senior Accountant will also play a key role in implementing process improvements, partnering with cross-functional teams, and supporting the continued growth of our accounting infrastructure in a dynamic biotech environment.

Responsibilities 
  • Perform and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, bank/credit card reconciliations and accruals to support accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and year-end footnote disclosures in compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports such as cashflow projection, expense by vendor analysis and etc.
  • Assist with audits, including preparing schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors
  • Support Tax department in coordination with external tax advisors and internal tax projects.
  • Lead or assist in implementation and documentation of new accounting policies and internal controls
  • Review and approve R&D and clinical AP batches in Netsuite
  • Monitor and reconcile cash transactions and ensure proper recording in Netsuite
  • Partner with FP&A department to prepare project-based cost allocations, cost-sharing allocation calculation and LIMS FTE ratio calculation
  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal reporting systems
  • Participate in special projects, including ERP upgrades and cross-functional initiatives
  • Assist with reviewing employee reimbursements and provide constructive feedback to ensure policy compliance and accuracy
  • Assist with ad hoc requests from management and team members
  • Support in team development and creation of accounting procedures

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a biotechnology, life sciences, or high-growth company
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Skilled at prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing requests, adaptable in shifting priorities as needed to meeting changing demand
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, team collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
  • Experience supporting external audits and tax filings preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software; NetSuite ERP and QuickBooks experience strongly preferred
  • CPA or CPA track preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills.
While most offers typically fall within the low to mid-point of the range, we may extend an offer toward the higher end for exceptional candidates whose background and expertise align strongly with the requirements of the role.
