The Manager/Senior Manager, Clinical Finance Business Partner will lead the financial planning and analysis efforts for the clinical portfolio of the company. This strategic role is responsible for developing and overseeing financial models, budgets, and forecasts that support our clinical development objectives. This role will also be responsible for managing finance-related issues with external alliance partners.  The Clinical Finance Business Partner will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial alignment with clinical timelines and corporate goals, ultimately driving informed decision-making and resource allocation.  

This position requires a full-time onsite presence at our Redmond, WA location.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial aspects of a clinical development project, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking actuals for multiple indications and clinical trials.
  • Serve as a key member of the Clinical Project Team, translating project milestones and activities into comprehensive financial metrics and providing decision-making support.
  • Ensure transparency and visibility of project budgets to all relevant stakeholders, identifying and communicating financial risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare quarterly management reports, including variance analysis and KPIs
  • Partner with department leads (e.g., R&D, ClinOps, Regulatory) to align financial forecasts with operational plans
  • Monitor clinical trial spending, both internal and external managed studies, and provide financial oversight on CRO, sites and vendor contracts
  • Analyze financial variances as the project progresses and identify areas for cost optimization and potential cost-saving measures.
  • Prepare financial reports for senior management, outlining the financial implications of investment decisions, and ensure alignment with company-wide strategic initiatives and business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate all relevant financial components into the global project view and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years (Manager) or 7+ years (Senior Manager) of progressive experience in FP&A, preferably in a biotech, pharma, or CRO environment.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Extensive experience with clinical trial budgeting and CRO/vendor cost tracking.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (Excel, financial software)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Chinese is required. 
This position will require working some evenings due to collaboration and meetings with our teams in China.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.  Science background is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the biotech industry
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships across departments to enhance financial integration within the organization.
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills.
While most offers typically fall within the low to mid-point of the range, we may extend an offer toward the higher end for exceptional candidates whose background and expertise align strongly with the requirements of the role.
